Our Yoga classes take place on Thursday mornings from 9:15am till 10:15am at the Old Junior School. Everyone is welcome- we have a mixed group of men and women with a wide age range and varying levels of experience.

We work with the Chinese energy system or meridians, these channels are associated with the seasons so coming into winter we will focus on the water systems of the body, encouraging the body to stop “freezing up”. Tuning into these seasonal changes means that we can tune into the changing seasons outside and hopefully go through the year in a more mindful way. We work through a series of gentle movements, there are classic yoga poses which help to improve balance, flexibility and strength. Often these movements are put together into a sequence so that some “flow” is created moving from one pose to another.

This class is suitable for beginners and even those who have never tried yoga before. You do not need to have excellent flexibility to attend. Flexibility can improve over time! The classes are drop in and free to attend, there is no need to book. Classes run during the school term time over a 6-week block, breaking up for half term, Christmas and Easter. You will get more benefit from taking part regularly but there is no need to commit. We have mats that are available for you to use, so there is no need to bring any equipment, you just need to wear comfortable clothes that you can move around in with ease.

If you have any further questions, you can contact Lucy directly via email – [email protected].

"Delivering yoga this year has been a great experience, it has been lovely meeting people and seeing a group form. We have had plenty of laughter and created a really welcoming, friendly atmosphere. I have felt very privileged to create a space for people to rest and relax. The group is very friendly and we have new people joining all the time, my aim is to create a space where people can relax and we can have fun. If you have any concerns I am happy to chat and answer any questions you might have” ~ Lucy Halstead, class instructor
